READ, READ, READ! Please make daily reading a part of your routine at home. You can read to your first grader and/or have them read to you.
- The county expectation is that first graders should spend no more than 15 minutes on homework each day. Plan to spend 10-15 minutes each night working on something school related. Try to make this a part of your routine. Select activities that interest your child and meet his/her needs. Below are some of the options you can choose from:
- Daily follow up math assignments in our Eureka Math Succeed Book (Please note that the expectation is not for students to do all the problems- only a few to practice.)
- At the start of every reading unit you will receive a letter outlining the focus of the unit. Included with this letter are some suggested activities.
- Practice our heart words.
